ITEM- 2003 Jim Ison 1:12 Dollhouse Miniature Cupboard +21 pcs Jane Graber Stoneware +2 DESCRIPTION- Gorgeous Artisan Collection: an incredible signed & painted hutch/cupboard by the late Jim Ison (IGMA Fellow) from 2003 filled inside with 21 pieces of Jane Graber stoneware & 2 other artisan pieces (a vintage stoneware inkwell by long retired artist Phyllis Howard & a rolling pin turned out of one piece of wood by Pete Boorum). NOTE- eBay's new picture system makes all photos look fuzzy until you zoom or click on them. CUPBOARD INFO- The cupboard is signed on the base "J.I. '03" "#3 of 10". It is painted in an original, robin's egg blue (better than these flash photos show). It is extremely well made. There is a lot to be said about this cupboard. The level of attention to detail is easy to miss if you don't look closely. This is a very faithful copy of a mid 18th Century Sturbridge Pewter Cupboard made in single-case construction with three open shelves on top over a single paneled door cabinet hinged with the best wrought iron aged rat tail hinges held in by aged nails. These hinges were made by Ison at Harmony Forge. The blind three board door at the bottom is held closed by a wooden latch held by an aged tack, & the latch area has been expertly aged to simulate wear from years of opening & closing the door by turning the latch. Even the inside shelves have wear on the front edges, as if plates & bowls have gone in & out for years. The top is set with three shelves which each have plate grooves to easily hold your plates or platters in place just like the full size & the second shelf has been delicately notched for spoons & aged as if they have been pulled in & out over time. It has an expertly molded cornice, which is scalloped underneath & the sides are also scalloped, a very well carved & attractive design. The whole thing sits on trestle feet, which are expertly made just like the originals. The back panels were given a warm aged patina. The years of use have only added to its authentic look. This is one of my favorite dollhouse cupboards & over the years, I have sold one in green & one in red previously. They seldom come up, but I am always on the lookout. All his vintage cupboards come up rather infrequently. I feel this is among the best pieces he ever made & that you will not be disappointed. The cupboard measures 6 & 1/2" tall X 3 & 13/16" wide X 1 & 1/4" deep (at the top). CUPBOARD ARTIST INFO- The late Jim Ison was an amazing artisan. Jim Ison majored in architecture in college, worked in residential design, trade show exhibits & store planning. He has constructed models of automobiles, ships, railroads, & airplanes. He was a major miniaturist for many years. He was an IGMA Fellow and a teacher at the Guild School. He started marking furniture in the 1970's. He became a full time artisan in 1982 & taught classes for years at the Guild school in Castine, Maine, for NAME, & for area clubs near New Harmony. On August 22, 1989 his metalworking hobby became Harmony Forge in New Harmony, IN. He studied & made reproductions of significant pieces of tinware, wrought iron, & cast iron found in museums and in private collections. He worked to duplicate the rough surfaces created by the blacksmith's hammer, handcrafting them from pewter alloy for detail, strength and longevity. He made door, cabinet & chest hardware, hinges, fireplace andirons & accessories, cookware, lighting, shutter hinges, fences, wall shelves and more. He was a Fellow in the IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans). The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures features work from the time Ison collaborated in 1989 with Therese Bahl to create the 2 room (roombox) “A Tribute to the Classic Period of American Folk Art”, which is based on the parlor and hall of the 1830's Ezra Carroll House formerly in central New York. It is truly a masterpiece & can be seen here at this link- http: toyandminiaturemuseum org tag jim ison When he retired, he had been making models for around 70 years. I would've loved to have taken one of his classes. POTTERY INFO- Most of Jane's amazing pottery is self explanatory from the photos, but I want to especially note the extremely rare eagle water cooler. This type literally has NEVER come up for sale in all the years I've been doing this & none are shown as having sold on worthpoint. It came out of a vintage collection I bought in an estate auction lot which was VERY expensive & included 5 pieces that are in this: the eagle water cooler, the crossed flags crock, the rare a.m. Dipple and Son Lewistown, Pa floral crock (last one on eBay went for $190), the small bird on branch one-handled jug, & the floral batter jug with the wood handle. Also, a tea for four set sold for $301.95 recently on eBay & it was a more common flower set & this is a nicer bird set. POTTERY ARTIST INFO- Jane Graber, is a member of the IMGA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans), & has made miniature replicas of 18th and 19th-century American salt-glaze stoneware for more than 40 years since 1981, hand-throwing each piece on a potter's wheel, then painting and signing her work. She is internationally recognized for her craft, has been featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly & in many other magazines, and regularly did solo and group shows in the U.S. and England until retiring from shows last year. Her work is extraordinary; she is widely recognized as the best living miniaturist potter & without question is definitely the best in terms of stoneware & redware. I love pretty much everything she ever made. CONDITION- There is no damage to cupboard or stoneware. I should note that this cupboard is meant to be a primitive used-looking piece & thus was intentionally sanded in spots to age it as stated already. SHIPPING INSURANCE Free option- 5-10 days or so, Priority $20 option 2-4 days, explanation- Free Economy shipping included is me shipping it (not through eBay) by USPS priority registered including full insurance & is the most secure way to send anything expensive as every person that touches it has to scan & keep a record, but it takes from 5 days up to 10 days to arrive. That way saves me $20-25, but if you want to be sure you will get it within 4 days (2-4 depending on location), upgrade to Priority for $20 & we will ship it by normal Priority insured (not registered). That Priority insured price & costs us around $55-60 at this point with the new crazy PO prices for insurance. RETURNS & BUYER PROTECTION- These terms are legally binding. The eBay buyer protection program fully guarantees you will receive the item(s) you bought just as shown & described in this listing. We do not allow returns outside of the eBay buyer protection guarantee for any reason, because all that does is allow for buyers to return things for illegitimate reasons such as buyer's remorse or not reading the description, reasons that if we were somehow forced to do a return because of, would result in a 25% restocking fee. If we made a legitimate mistake that can be proven, then the eBay money back guarantee comes in. If there's damage, that's why we always fully insure any item (other than lesser items we have exact duplicates of). Most buyers are honest & not intending to cheat sellers, but this way you are protected and so are we. We often set up in Philly & Chicago & have sold a huge amount of estate miniatures in the past 7 years. We want to be a trusted source for artisan dollhouse items on eBay & we have never received anything but positive feedback from dollhouse items we've sold, with no complaints so far anywhere. However, one buyer neglected to note the size, thought they were buying a full size cupboard despite the DH category, description with size, & pictures with a dime beside them & one of my hand holding it, so just know what you're buying & know there will be no returns for not looking at pictures & reading the description. And if there is anything you're not sure about, write to ask BEFORE buying & we will send any additional pics or photos or measurements you need so there is no confusion. After you buy without writing, that is on you. We want to make every reasonable buyer happy so they come back again! Thanks for looking. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

This Tynietoy fenced-in yard was offered (for $5.00 in 1930) with the Tynietoy Nantucket house. This piece is very old and in original condition. The cream-colored paint is very fragile. Indeed, paint loss can be seen on the gate post in the main photo. Additionally, four posts are missing (photo 5). These condition issues, such as they are, would not dissuade me from this piece if I had one of the Nantucket house replicas. I received this in an auction box lot that also contained an original Tynietoy garden that was sold with the Tynietoy Townhouse. (Yes, I am still pinching myself!) I am keeping the garden, but I have no place for the fenced-in yard, hence, I am offering this to a devoted Tynietoy collector. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Vintage Miniature Dollhouse RARE Olszewski Pre-Goebel Figurine Farmyard Hero 1977 Bob Olszewski made a very small number (approximately 13) of Hummel and Royal Doulton inspired figurines, in extremely small quantities by hand, using the lost wax method prior to becoming an official "Master Artist" with Goebel in July, 1979. These first figurines were made during a period of time before another miniature artist advised Bob to get express permission to create Goebel figurines in miniature, at which point they were so astounded by his miniature creations that they decided to sign an exclusive contract with him, making him the only artist outside of Bavaria to produce official Hummel figurines. These early, unauthorized pieces are now known as the Pre-Goebel miniatures and are highly coveted though they are less detailed. I am happy to be bringing to you my prized collection of 11 such Pre-Goebel figurines. According to information available online, they may have been poured with gold. Although I cannot confirm whether they are bronze or gold, they do feel a bit lighter than his later pieces leading me to believe they may very well be gold. Each one represents a piece of history as one of Olszewski’s earliest and most highly sought after works, which rarely come up for auction, due to their scarcity Pre Goebel Rarity: "Farmyard Hero" by Bob OlszewskiThis figurine is called Farmyard Hero. It is just ½ inch tall, making it absolutely perfect in scale as a shelf sitter or curio piece in a 1:12 setting. It is the miniature version of a Hummel piece called Barnyard Hero, and was produced in 1977 when it was introduced with a total of 489 being created thereafter. Olszewski used the skills learned from a figure called Rainy Weather in casting a large metal area with relatively thin connectors from the base. The base bottom is a natural buffed bronze. This piece is hand signed by Olszewski himself, and comes along with its original baby blue velvet-lined box for safekeeping. It is in excellent condition and has never been displayed. It captures a moment of playful chaos in a farmyard. A white goose is extending its neck, perhaps in a loud honk, while a small boy, likely no older than five or six, is depicted in a moment of surprise. He’s climbed over a wooden fence, perhaps to explore the barnyard, and now finds himself face-to-face with the honking goose. A lovely piece that is full of lighthearted humor and a touch of farmyard charm.*This listing includes the Farmyard Hero figurine, as described only. Any other prop items shown are not included, but are displayed for scale.*This miniature came from a wonderful lifetime, collection, of Olszewski pieces spanning multiple decades by a husband and wife team out of Ohio Measurements:1:12 scale, 1/2" tallATTENTION COLLECTORSDo you have a miniature collection that you'd like to sell?
